These were commissioned by a friend of a guild member, whose family has made them for all members since the mid-1940s. The original pattern was printed in A Woman's Home Companion in 1945. Sadly no family members are able to make stockings for the newest members of the family (and no one in the younger generations knows how to knit) so she asked us for a referral to someone who could make a couple for her. Many, many people have used this pattern, with some variations, over the past almost 80 years. Arent they fun?
